Okay, so maybe it’s frowned upon or against the

Okay, so maybe it’s frowned upon or against the “rules”, but I planned my own 40th birthday trip. Yes - goodie bags, itinerary and all. 😂 I even created TWO playlists over a year ago for the weekend. 🎶
Two of my strengths are travel planning and party planning, which are two of my husband’s weaknesses. 😆 The weekend was, of course, full of everything I love. Grateful for our friends who met us in Mexico to celebrate. 🥳(and shoutout to Mel for the balloons and Lina for the hats!)

So here I am giving you permission to plan your own party. 💁🏼‍♀️

🛥️Our day out on the water with @caboboatadventures was everything I’d hoped and more! Paublo & Raul took care of our group of 10 with a delish lunch & margaritas a plenty. We saw sea lions and flying rays, took pictures in front of the arch, & jumped in for a fresh swim. They even had a birthday cake and decorations for me!

Thanks for making my birthday celebration so memorable, Cabo Boat Adventures. 🎉

We got to catch @thesavbananas on tour at their first MLB stadium game ⚾️🍌⚾️🍌

This definitely makes the top 10 experiences list for our family - and we’ve traveled all over the states & world!

If you haven’t heard of them, they’ve been described as the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball. There’s a documentary about the Savannah Bananas you can stream online.

From the time the stadium - Minute Maid in Houston - opened (2pm) until the gates opened (5pm) to the first pitch (7pm) all the way to the last pitch (around 9pm) it was NONSTOP entertainment. There was never a quiet moment. There were backflips, dancing umpires, a singing Princess of Potassium, players running up & down the aisle, lots of autograph signings, a player on stilts, crawling baby races, some great music and more - all while an actual game of baseball was being played. 🤯

Highly recommend 💯

🏍️ I’ve lost count of the dirt bikes we have as “investments” so don’t ask 🙄
👕 Our washing machine died, and my husband brought home a $20 “new” one. Yes, it works. For now.
🐾 In a round about way, he kind of sort of asked me before brining the new puppy home. I wasn’t thrilled at first because I didn’t want/need another responsibility with three kids + the dog we already had…but I instantly fell in love with the new pup. And she is the reason why I now get nothing done during the day while the kids are at school. 🙃

💘Are you celebrating Valentine’s Day with girlfriends this year?! @xoxodiningroom in Dallas has a couple more reservations left for the 14th, more for the 15th, and plenty of dining times open for Friday, February 16th! This is the perfect spot for a girl’s night out! 💌

🤠Our kid-free weekend in Nashville for a friend’s 40th was packed! Here’s what we recommend:

🎶 Dance the night away to live music on Broadway. There’s more than just country music! Our favorite country bar was Losers - it felt like a local hangout spot & it was off Broadway away from the crowds.
🛴Ride scooters around downtown. This was one of our group’s favorite activities & it wasn’t planned.
🪓Axe throwing at Bad Axe
🍴Eat at Assembly Food Hall. There’s a big selection of all types of food & even boozy snow cones. Our favorite was the sausage from Honeyfire BBQ.
🍳Have brunch at Von Elrod’s. Order the sausage balls and make sure to check out all the baseball cards in the bathroom!
🍞Wait in the line (it moves fast & is worth it!) for breakfast at Biscuit Love. “East Nasty” is what you’ll want.
🥩Make reservations for dinner at Kayne Prime. The cotton candy topped bacon is unlike anything we’ve ever had. The steak melts in your mouth & the bread is too good to be true.
🍸 Grab pre-dinner drinks at Patterson House, a quiet cozy spot.
🥃 Have whiskey straight from the barrel at Nashville Barrel Company.
🍺 Do the moonshine tasting at Ole Smoky Distillery.
🍻 Have a flight at Tennessee Brew Works.
🛍️ Shop the day away. We went to too many stores to list, but in the video you see Boot Barn, Rustler Hat Co, & Lucchese.

This cute walkable town was one of our favorites on our Florida road trip! It’s loaded with history and has tons to do.

👀 Drive & walk around downtown
🍴 Eat lunch at Prohibition Kitchen
📜 Take a stroll down the oldest street in the nation, Aviles Street
🕶️ Visit the Old City Gates
🛍️Spend some time on St George Street - there’s shops, food, sweets, & galleries. The oldest wooden schoolhouse in America is here too!
🍨Grab an all natural fresh fruit popsicle from The Hyppo
🥃 Have a tasting at City Gate Spirits
🚶‍♀️Walk around the oldest masonry fort in the USA, Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
