🌀 Here we go again. Our initiation to Florida i 🌀 Here we go again. Our initiation to Florida is turning out to be a bit crazy - possibly the worst direct hit to our area (we are west of Tampa) in 100 years 😳 & heres’s what we are doing to prep. We will fill water bottles & bathtubs tomorrow, as well as finish all the laundry.
🌀 Lessons learned from Hurricane Helene: 1. Goo 🌀 Lessons learned from Hurricane Helene: 1. Good neighbors are a treasure 2. You become very creative when you’ve been without power for 50+ hours 3. Someone always has it worse 4. It should be noted in the Florida Welcome Packet that you will most likely need a generator at some point (thankful for a neighbor who let us run an extension cord to their generator to save our food. See #1) 5. It takes a hurricane and two days without power for the husband to purchase a generator, not months of me saying “we should get a generator” 😂 6. Walking around nearby stores with air conditioning was a great idea 7. Sitting in the car for 3 hours this morning with the air conditioning on full blast & a blanket was an even better idea 8. Between the bickering and arguing between kids, there have been some really special & sweet moments. I just had to look for them. 9. Even though the house has been turned upside down, kids are going stir crazy from having three days off school, and it’s 89* inside the house 🥵, you can still take an ice shower because no hot water (but not wash your hair because 🥶) and go on a date with your husband

🥳 I got to celebrate one of my favorite girlfri 🥳 I got to celebrate one of my favorite girlfriends for her 40th this weekend! Six moms spent the weekend without husbands and without kids in my favorite stretch of sand. 10/10 would recommend
🌴We’ve officially been Florida residents for 🌴We’ve officially been Florida residents for 1 month! We are slowly checking off my mile-long list of things to do/see and places to eat in the area. Here’s a recap of our first month: - 12 trips to the beach; we are close to so many different beaches and like them all for different reasons! - 6 breweries; @coppertailbrewing has been my favorite so far because their cider is delish. - 5 minor league baseball games; there’s several minor league parks close to us! We’ve mostly visited the @dunedinbluejays and @threshersbaseball because they’re the closest to us. The kids like the Dunedin park the best because they have a little more freedom there. - 5 local restaurants; my favorite date night spot so far is @ilovetlr and favorite family spot so far is @cabanascoastalgrill - 4 churches; still trying to find our church home. - 2 cafes; @grovesurfcafe and @tukrocoffeedunedin are both adorbs - 1 concert (Jake Owen & Dan + Shay) - 1 Tropical Storm There’s so many places to explore here & I can’t wait to share them with you. ☀️

Living in Texas, I am aware that a large percentag Living in Texas, I am aware that a large percentage of people speak Spanish here. However, by the looks we got from the staff at the restaurant, the airport staff, the gate agent, the PGA golf store employee, and many others at the airport my husband said “gracias” to….I’m pretty sure they don’t speak Spanish 😆
